Bride and Groom Wedding Photos in Sunken Gardens St. Petersburg Florida

Nikki and Matthew live in Rhode Island but they fell in love with tropical St. Petersburg so much that they decided to be married at Sunken Gardens. They are such a sweet and genuine couple! I loved meeting their family too and they were so happy to be away from the cold North East.

The day began at The Hollander Hotel and they both had such a special time getting ready with their bridal party and parents. One of my favorite parts of the day was when they had their first look. They exchanged letters but Matt forgot his original letter at the hotel but he bought a new card in the gift shop at Sunken Gardens and it had a butterfly on the front page. Butterflies are meaningful to Nikki because her earrings represent her best friend that passed away a few years ago. We also happened to be standing right next to the butterfly garden. I’d like to think she was definitely with us in spirit during such a beautiful moment.

A pop-up storm hovered over us during the ceremony even though rain wasn’t in the forecast. The report was calling for 100% chance of rain during that hour but it held off until cocktail hour. Their reception was under a beautiful white tent that was surrounded my tropical plants and a cool breeze. Nikki and Matthew surprised everyone with their first dance because they took dance lessons and they looked PHENOMENAL on the dance floor! My favorite photo is when he swept Nikki off her feet!

Tropical wedding days make my heart sing! I really loved that sometimes they appeared to be in a tropical paradise but other times they were in the dessert!
